Though, America is not as powerful as a superpower as it was in the 50s and 60s and after the fall of the Berlin economically and politically, it is now the only power in a position to rule over the world order and change its face.
When egotistical, unpredictable, with a large mouth that can’t be curbed has taken the throne of leader of the world by being the President of US, he is proclaiming and giving orders that are ruthless in nature.
One should mention that it was expected before he entered White House, therefore, it mustn’t come as a surprise for many.
Behind Trump’s aggressive face is US establishment’s treatment like that of a villain which many may agree he is. He also faced an assassination attempt which he used in his campaign to garner soft support and votes from the people.
After taking oath as 47th President of US, he put forth his agenda openly and forthrightly.
His first executive order was to suspend money going to NGOs all over the world. This reeks of America first slogan.
Moreover, Trump has signed a series of executive orders to remove diversity, equity and inclusion (DEl)
from the military, reinstate thousands of troops who were kicked out for refusing Covid-19 vaccines during the pandemic, and take aim at transgender troops.
The second law that is under process is more dangerous as it intends on expunging millions of immigrants that he considers ‘illegal’ and ‘criminals’. He considers them the biggest thorn for US economy’s prosperity.
On the other front, Trump has pointed towards ‘cleaning out’ Gaza by which he meant that Palestinians
residing there should move to either Egypt or Jordan.
However, despite these occurrences his biggest challenge comes from China that is the second biggest economy of the world. He would have to navigate his way through to stop further rise of China geopolitically and otherwise if he wants to sustain the great super power status of America.
It’s strange that he hasn’t mentioned Putin so far in any of his proclamations after taking power.
Moreover, it seems that Trump’s foreign policy handlers want to deal with our region through MBS. A week hadn’t seen its end and MBS offered to investment worth $600 billion in US. Through this, MBS may play the role of instrument of Trump not only in the Middle East but also South Asia.
Last but not the least, followers of incarcerated leader of PTI, who were expecting that he will at least mention Pakistan or speak up for IK, are despondent; it seems Washington has parked
this agenda.
